community Outreach
One of the central activities of the Binational Center is to provide stakeholder outreach and education in Mexico, Arizona, and along the U.S.-Mexico Border. The specific community outreach goals are:
- To increase public awareness of the health risks associated with common occurring contaminants (e.g. arsenic and heavy
metals)

Example of activities include:
- Coordination and support of community meetings in Mexico and the Border region
- Participation in Unified Community Advisory Board meetings in Arizona
- Involvement in U.S. EPA Arizona/Sonora Border 2012 Waste and Enforcement Task Force Meetings
- Creation of outreach and research translation materials targeting Mexican and Border residents
